November Pack Meeting

This month we did the jungle safari theme. It fit in nicely as we were giving out an arrow of light award. We hung stars (Christmas lights), and had a fire (a fan/light combo the Webelos had made) and blanket laid out on the other side of the room. When it was time to give out the arrow of light we dimmed the lights "lit" the fire and told the story of Chief Akela and his father Arrow of Light. (adapted from this website http://www.netwoods.com/cermonies/cub-aol.html)
We had monkeys and snakes (stuffed animals) around the room.

Singing our "Tarzan of the Apes" song.

The other boys that earned awards had to pull their awards out of the award box. They each picked their favorite animal sound (thanks sis for the idea) and whenever the box was open the audience had to cry out that animal sound. Once the lid was closed that queued the audience to stop the animal sound. It was a fun replacement for a cheer.

Just one of my WoNdErFuL leaders presenting the arrow of light pin.

One of the amazing neighbors makes this wooden plaque for the boys to display their arrows on.
All in all it was a great night. Thanks to everybody for their help and support! There is no way I could do this all my own. (And my photographer is finally done with soccer and is back to help, and is gradually getting better as well!)
