September Pack Meeting
Games, Games, and more Games. This month we had an outdoor pack meeting, I figured that I would take advantage of the good weather while we had it. I had five stations set up, they boys could go to and participate in each of the games.
Station One: Lemon Eggs
Start with balancing the hard boiled eggs and running to one end of the parking lot. On the other side pick up a lemon, and roll the lemon back to the start. Continuing back and forth until all teams are completed, or as you time each child.
Station Two: Popcorn, Popcorn, on my shoe!?!?!
Set the boxes about 5 yards from starting line. Have the individuals put the plastic cups on top of their shoes (rubber bands will hold them on). Fill the cup with popcorn. Individual must run to the box, and dump their popcorn in. They can run in teams or as individuals to see who can fill the box up the highest. Or you can measure to see who lost the least amount of popcorn.
Station Three: High Dive
Each team gets a cup of water, a chair, and ten pennies. Standing on the chair try and toss the pennies, one at a time, into the cup of water below. See who could get the most pennies into the cups. Could also have the individual stand at the line, and throw the pennies into cups at alternating lengths.
Station Four: Marshmallow Fling
This requires two people at a time.
Stand about 15 feet apart. The marshmallow flinger has to use the plastic spoon to fling marshmallows to his teammate, the catcher. The catcher catches his marshmallows into the small bag. You could time to see how long it takes to get 10 marshmallows into the bag, or pit two groups together, first to get 10 win.
Station Five: Tug of War
Needed: tub of water, ping-pong ball, blue painters tape, optional: straws
Before starting: mark the middle of the tub with the blue painters tape, add water into tub. Players stand on opposite sides of the tub, put the ping-pong ball in the middle and try to blow it to the other side. If you get the ball to go to your opponent’s side of the tube, you get a point. The first person to get three points win.
Station Six: Refreshments.
